WHAT IS THE MUSIC AT WORK CONCERT SERIES?
The Music at Work Concert Series was created as a benefit for the employees of Verity Group.  As a private not-for-profit event, it does not violate any exclusivity clauses contained in other venue's contracts.

WHY HOST A CONCERT SERIES AT WORK?
Numerous studies show that music reduces stress, fosters creativity and helps heal the soul by bringing about a more positive state of mind.  In the current business economy we have all had to learn to work harder and more efficiently and, in turn, have had to find newer and better ways to restore our energy and drive.  That's where Music at Work comes in... the staff gets a chance to relax and enjoy an intimate musical performance... the company enjoys a happier workforce... and I get a chance to do more of what I really love... support independent singer-songwriters. 

WHY WE FOCUS ON INDEPENDENT ARTISTS? 
A small band or lone singer-songwriter working from a bedroom or tiny studio, makes the music they hear in their own head.  They usually produce their own work, release it on their own label, and handle the entire distribution process themselves.  Too often they can barely afford to do what they do, so they make every effort count, and I believe it results in their best work.  There is an intimacy during their shows that is not found in other genres.  So I feel compelled to support them and this concert series is one way I can do that and give something back to my employees at the same time.
